• How young is too young?

  I have a lot of friends that jumped on the band wagon and gave their virginity up either when they were too young, and even though they'll never admit it, I know they regret it, or their excuse was 'I was tired of being the only virgin in the group.' I think both of those what I consider to be cop outs, are lame excuses just to be sleeping with someone. Either you want it or you don't, it's your decision.

  I had a lot of friends in high school that thought they wouldn't be cool unless they could check the box that said 'sexually active'.  I was perfectly okay with being  a virgin. I never lied about it and if I was asked, I would proudly admit to that fact.  I just recently gave up my virginity to my boyfriend, whom I am in love with and I think he is the one I would like to spend the rest of my life with. Given, we've only been together for almost two months, but, we've known each other for almost three years and we've always been drawn to each other. (And I would just like to add the fact that, yes, he feels the same way, too.)  But I made sure not to finally do the deed until I was ready, not because I was tired of being a virgin or because 'everyone else was doing it.' I waited until I loved who I was with and he the same.  My boyfriend wasn't a virgin but he tells me that he wishes that he had waited until he knew that he loved someone as much as he loves me to sleep with someone. And I know a lot of my friends feel the same way.

  I guess the point I'm trying to make is, they're too many people, girls especially, that are just giving it up because they want to fit in or they want to keep their love interest at the moment around. Which is totally and completely the worst decision they could ever have made. They may not see it now, but somewhere down the wrong, they'll wish they hadn't. I just want people to give a little more thought to down the road when they're making that decision.
